Barcelona, 22 April 2016.- Naturhouse, a company specialising in the sale of diet products and dietary re-education, has witnessed an improvement in all its main figures for 1Q16, thanks to the boost from its international business and improvements in the business in Spain in spite of the effect of Easter, which fell in April last year.

The group’s total sales have climbed to €24.8 million, which is 2.5% more than in the same period last year. This increase is down to a general improvement in the business in the company’s main countries, especially in France and Poland.

Earnings before Internet, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 3.7% in the first quarter of the year to €8.9 million. With this figure, Naturhouse’s EBITDA margin stands at 35.7%, which is above the same figure for 1Q15 and at the top end of the group’s target range (30%/35%) for 2015 and 2016, while also being the highest in the industry.

Net income has increased by 4% to €6 million, thanks to overall improvements in the business and a greater contribution from Ichem.

In terms of geographic areas, the positive development of the international market, with sales increasing by 3.7%, stands out. Italy and Spain, which until February had grown by 0.3% and 7.7%, respectively, have both been affected by the Easter break. Nevertheless, we are optimistic about both countries with regards to 2016 as a whole.

In terms of net cash position, Naturhouse ended 1Q16 at €21.6m, which is €6.7m more than at the end of 2015, constituting an increase of close to 45%.

Meanwhile, the General Shareholders’ Meeting approved the payment of a dividend totalling €4.95m yesterday, which brings the total dividend against 2015 results to €19m with an 83.1% payout rate, above the guidance for 2015-2016. This, once again, shows the Company’s considerable cash generation capacity along with its interest in maximising shareholder remuneration. The dividend will be paid on 4 May 2016.

Félix Revuelta, Chairman of Naturhouse, said, “The figures for 1Q16 once again reinforce the sustainable nature of our business growth and, in terms of Spain and Italy, confirm our idea that a return to growth is underway in both countries.”

For the new 2016 financial year, Naturhouse plans to open at least 34 new centres in order to fulfil its guidance and continue to increase its presence outside Spain. The business is also going in the right direction in terms of meeting its EBITDA margin forecasts – which remain higher than planned once again this quarter (35.8% vs. target of 30-35%) – and fulfilling its dividend commitment, as it plans to distribute at least 80% of its profits among its shareholders.
